Bright Nickel & Chrome

Bronson Plating is proud to apply bright chrome and bright nickel electroplating – a finish that is aesthetically pleasing and durable. Bright nickel and bright chrome finishes are used in a wide range of applications. They offer a high-luster finish, corrosion protection, wear resistance, and ease of cleaning. In the automotive industry, bright nickel automotive chrome plating can be found on bumpers, rims, exhaust pipes, interior and exterior trim. Applications in other industries include hand tools, hospital equipment and furnishings featuring medical chrome plating, retail store displays, school furniture, office furniture, and household items such as lighting and plumbing fixtures, wire racks, and appliances.

We take the utmost care in the preparation, since the overall appearance of decorative plating is only as good as the preparation of the component. Various polishing and/or buffing processes are utilized in preparing components for decorative plating. To achieve a bright chrome finish, items are first electroplated with bright nickel, then chromium is electroplated over the bright nickel.

Bronson Plating offers finishes in both trivalent and hexavalent chrome using environmentally responsible processes.

GREAT FOR

  • Decorative, high-luster appearance
  • Excellent corrosion resistance
  • Wear resistance
  • Lubricity
  • Ease of cleaning
In 2007, the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) banned several toxic substances for use in Europe, including hexavalent chromium, which is used in chrome plating. However, chrome plating is electroplated chromium metal and contains no hexavalent chromium after it is rinsed, so chrome plating is NOT banned.
